President Mahama names the first group of nominees for ministers. After taking office on January 7, 2025, President John Dramani Mahama fulfilled a crucial constitutional duty today (January 9, 2025) by submitting his first set of ministry nominees to Parliament. According to Article 78 of the 1992 Constitution, the nominations were made to the Speaker of Parliament and include three people for important positions in justice, energy, and finance. The candidates are: 1. Dr. Cassiel Ato Baah Forson, Designate Minister of Finance 2. Mr. John Abdulai Jinapor, Designated Minister for Energy 3. Attorney General and Minister for Justice Designee Dr. Dominic Akuritinga Ayine After confirming receipt of the names, Speaker of the House of Representatives Alban Bagbin forwarded the three cabinet nominees to the Appointments Committee for review.
